BEACH
Suan Luang is a long and relaxed beach near Bang Saphan. It is nice and quiet and the main road is far from the accommodations. The beach is long, so even though there are other tourists, it still feels very peaceful.
Most bungalows have a sea view. This is the perfect place to relax in your hammock, enjoy the view over the Gulf of Thailand and then take a dip in the sea. The sea is usually calm, but with easterly winds the waves can become higher.
When we visited this beach in October, the sea was full of jellyfish. After asking around and checking remarks on the internet we realized that we had arrived during the jellyfish period, which explained why, during our visits in November, December and February, the sea was good for swimming.
WHERE TO STAY
You will find a good number of stays that are a good mix of budget, mid-range and some upper range options. Good budget-friendly places are Yan Bungalow and Ploy Bungalow. I Ta Lay Resort is a great mid-range option. If you are looking for more comfort, we can recommend Coral Hotel. Make sure to check the internet to find out which hotel suits you best.
Most hotels have restaurants, although you can also visit one of the beach restaurants, which are only a few minutes’ walk along the beach. There are several beach bars along the beach.
