BEACH
It is best to avoid the main beach of Hat Sai Khao, which is probably the most touristy beach on Ko Chang. However, just a few kilometers north of the main beach, at the bottom of a steep hill, is a beautiful beach.
You really need to know how to find this beach. It is nice and quiet, the sand is fine-grained, and the beach is surrounded by trees. The clear water is usually calm and you can swim well with both tides.
WHERE TO STAY
Although the prices at the mid-range White Sand Beach Resort are not the lowest, it is a good place to stay. The location is amazing, although the bungalows need some repairs. If you are traveling on a budget, we recommend going to Rock Sand Resort or Maylamean Bungalow.
Please note that you need a scooter at White Sand Beach Resort in order to reach other places on the island. You will have to drive your scooter down a steep hill from the main road, which can be quite scary if you are not an experienced rider. An alternative is to walk along the beach to Hat Sai Khao’s main beach.
You can enjoy a meal at the affiliated restaurants overlooking the beach or just walk to the main beach.
