ISLAND
Ko Bulon Le is a tranquil island located in the Andaman Sea, off the southwestern coast of Thailand. With an area of about 3 square kilometers, this island is small; it takes only 20 minutes to walk from one side of the island to the other.
Ko Bulon Le is partly covered by a dense jungle, with a beautiful white beach on the east and south coasts and beautiful mangrove forests in the north. There are no cars, only a path winds across the island used by walkers and the occasional scooter.
The island has a very small village, a school and 3 beaches, of which one is included in our list. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, making it an excellent destination for snorkeling.
WHAT TO DO
The primary activity on Ko Bulon Le is relaxation. It’s the perfect place to unwind, sunbathe, snorkel and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can take leisurely walks along the shoreline or simply bask in the serenity. There are no ATMs on the island, so make sure to bring cash.
TRANSPORT
From Bangkok you can take a flight to Trang or Hat Yai. Pakbara Pier is a 90-minute to 2-hour taxi or minibus ride from both towns. Trang is a friendly provincial town to spend the night. Wander the streets and eat at the night market in Ruenrom Alley, located about a 15-minute walk away from the train station. We recommend going to Trang Happy Trip & Tour (081 607 2411) next to the train station to arrange your transportation. You will receive professional help with a smile for fair prices.
A private taxi from Trang to Pakbara is 2000 baht. At Pakbara the shared speedboat leaves at 12.30 and cost 600 baht per person. From Trang, there is a minibus transfer once a day, including a boat ticket, for 750 baht per person. Shared taxis leave around 8:45 in the morning.
You find boat connections twice a day from Ko Lanta, passing several other islands before reaching Ko Bulon Le. A ferry passes from Ko Lipe twice a day. From Ko Sukorn, a longtail boat costs 2500 baht for a 1-hour trip.
You can not rent scooters on the island.
